Last day of October October/31/2006 So it's the last day of October, I'm waiting for snow chaos which I've read about in the paper. ![]() After searching for over a year I've finally found my Clarks Desert Extreme. The plan was black, but I can't find them anywhere. Saw them in brown in Germany, but as mr J's mother said Sandra, you're not brown anywhere... And today I found them in grey! Wow. Great! ![]() Sweet things in a shopping window. ![]() Yarn yarn yarn, I'm yearning for yarn (shit, that was a bad wordplay). ![]() I've made a cousin for Mr Autumn, an evil one. He's also for sale. I'm taking the ones I don't sell through internet to the Christmas market at my school, so that's why there are quite a few :) Mr Autumn's Evil Cousin 27cm / 10.6" 100% alpaca wool One of a kind Handcrocheted USD 68 / €54 (shipping included) In Sweden: 470:- (inkl frakt) E-mail me for more information: sandra [a] smosch.com or use the comment-thing. Gourmet weekend and Mr Autumn October/30/2006 Mr J's family is a real gourmet family. We had a greek night at his parents' this weekend and souplunch at his aunt's. Yummy. Have had such delicious snails, bread, Mythos, cheese saganaki, tzatziki... and not to mention the desserts... My oh my. Also made a trip with the car to look at the Pennybridge surroundings and found many beautiful things. Some pictures: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I also had some time to make a new character while being away. For the first time in a long time I really enjoyed going by train. Let me present to you Mr Autumn. He's for sale (have to start building my webshop soon...).

Illustration Friday October/27/2006 It's been a real illustration Friday today, haven't done anything else but a couple of illustrations. Finished my job and sent it to the magazine and then made last weeks topic ghost (Illustration Friday):
We're leaving town for Pennybridge. Have a great weekend you all! Thursday October/26/2006 ![]() I got this sweet little Enid toy from Doc18, my flickr-friend, in the mail today. If I was a toy, this would be me :) ![]() The other night I got an e-mail from a magazine who wanted an illustration by me, so today I've been trying to figure out what I want it to look like. Since I love letters I've been drawing quite a few today, and above you see a few of them. I'll post the illustration in a couple of weeks when it's been published. Hi Jimmy. October/25/2006 ![]() Last night after some wine and Frutti di Mare-pizza I rediscovered mr Jimmy Sommerville, I love his songs! It's been years since I listened to anything else but Smalltown Boy, which really is fantastic. Attack October/24/2006 Yesterday night I went to the local food store with mr J. As we were about to reach the door something suddenly attacked me. I didn't see what it was at first, but got really scared. Then I saw it was a pitbull terrier. Luckily its owner could yell at it and asked me "Did it bite you?" and I was so shocked I just answered "I don't know" and went in to the store shaking. Then I felt something in my belly, that dog had actually bitten my belly and fortunately I was wearing a thick hoodie with my purse and stuff in the pockets. That's where the dog bit me, so it didn't get that much of my belly in its mouth. I hope I will still be able to be as dog-friendly as I've always been. ![]() ![]() Old-lady-pictures from around my house, I needed a little walk for some change of environment. Have been indoors for too many days, but still sick. ByeBye Berlin October/23/2006 ![]() Berlin is a city of contrasts, just look at these two houses. ![]() ![]() ![]() Fernsehturm is fabulous, I can never stop being fascinated by its beauty. ![]() ByeBye MissVan-painting, will be interesting to see how much is left of it when I come back next time. Today Monday morning, the most wonderful in a long while. Didn't want to get up and did the snooze-thing for over two hours. Love that state between awake and asleep; wanting to sleep, having to get up and just stay there. Met a friend at Marysquare to pick up some sushi and go home to me to eat and chat. That's what I call a nice lunch hour. My body and brain have stayed in that slow mood and it feels like I won't wake up today, not completely. Mmm... Berlin Sunday October/22/2006 So, last Sunday: Fleamarket on Boxhagener Platz, Friedrichshain, is a must on Sundays. It was a really great fleamarket. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sushi is well needed with a Weißbier after visiting fleamarkets. Home in my apartment today... ![]() This weekend is being-sick-weekend, so I've started knitting a scarf which is kind of princess-like, not really my style, but I need a change. Wish you all a happy Sunday! A week ago October/21/2006 Last Saturday our best friend the German picked us up at the Alexanderplatz with a car he fixed. He's the best Berlin driver I know and drove around the city telling stories all day. It feels like we saw everything. He showed us the place he grew up in, Olympiastadion, great falafel in Schöneberg, die Plattenbau all over the former east etc etc. In the night we had dinner at his mother's palace meeting Heinz, 90+, who had been a soldier in Russia during the war and was a Sweden-freak. - Wie findet ihr die neue Regierung in Schweden? he asked politely, very interested in politics. - Scheiße!!! we answered and he was happy. ![]() Waiting for the German... ![]() Aaaah! ![]() Me and Mr J at the Neptun-Brunnen. Picture taken by the German. ![]() Funny view from the car in Kreuzberg. Macho? October/20/2006 ![]() Today I'm published in Macho Magazine. It feels really nice. In the night October/19/2006 ![]() Gorki Park is one of my absolute favourite places in Berlin. One night we had blinis etc for dinner together with some beer. It's a very relaxing spot with nice wallpapers, light and people. Walking around in Prenzlauer Berg is absolutely gorgeous and there is a Photoautomat on Kastanienallee in which we took pictures of ourselves, high contrast black and white. Beautiful. I really like the Berliner Tempo, there is no hurry or stress, people are walking slowly looking very satisfied in their big big city. ![]() Walking for around 14 hours this day it was time to catch a train... ![]() ...from Brandenburger Tor, where we got that touristic feeling you sometimes have to have when you're on vacation. Berlin Berlin October/18/2006 ![]() Linienstraße, alter! ![]() Outside Tacheles ![]() Köpenicker Straße, this doesn't look like Berlin (no graffiti). ![]() Beautiful colours. ![]() We had some waffles and white wine at Kauf dich glücklich, a very nice café with a big sweet black cat I got friend with until I saw cat poo on the floor... In Sweden it's Autumn, beautiful Autumn with thick grey sky. I'm trying to work, but can't really concentrate. Back in Berlin October/17/2006 Berlin was, as always, fabulous. This time so fabulous I didn't find the time to take that many pictures... But some! Of course. Look: ![]() Sweet characters in Kreuzberg. ![]() Foggy days, but no rain. Sweet. When we arrived late in the night we saw the fabulous tower clearly (with pink fussball-shit still on it) but the next day it was so foggy we couldn't see the Fernsehturm ball at all. Which was good, because when the fog was gone even the last piece of the ugly pink fussball-shit on the ball was gone. Lucky :) ![]() Mitte. ![]() Didn't get the time to have falafel here (we had wonderful falafel with The German in Schöneberg), but had to take a photo. Dada is me (my sister couldn't say Sandra when we were kids so she said Dada, and still does so). ![]() Tacheles, Oranienburger Straße. So after four times in Berlin I'm still in love and can't wait to go back. I'll post more pictures soon :) Hi Fernsehturm! October/11/2006 ![]() I'm going away for a few days to kiss the Fernsehturm, eat Pfannkuchen, hold mr J's hand, sit in a car with The German Best Friend as driver, take lots of pictures etc etc. I'm not visiting the Pictoplasma though. See you next week! The only picture I've taken is this: ![]() It's for tonight's dinner, artichokes are fabulous. And beautiful and extremly tasty. Tomorrow I'll start a new project at school. For five weeks I'm going to work on a book I've been planning for years. Will be so much work and so so much fun. And in a week we'll meet our best friend. In our favourite city. Have to stop now.
